There is not a Winter Parent/Player/Coaches meeting tonight, 11/19, as it states on the school calendar. This meeting was held on 10/29.
WINTER SPORTS INFORMATION
High School students MUST sign up in the nurses' office by Thursday, 10/29 if they plan on playing a winter sport.
The fall season is underway and now it's time to start getting ready for winter! Sign-up sheets for High School winter sports will be in the nurse's office starting on October 1st until October 29th. Students interested in trying out/participating in a winter sport (Freshman Boys' Basketball, B&G Indoor Track, B&G Hockey, Boys' Swimming/Diving, Wrestling and B&G Bowling) must sign up in the nurses office during this time period. The nurses will then be able to see what health forms, if any, the students need to be eligible.
START DATES FOR HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS: Freshman Boys' Basketball - 11/2/09; All other JV/Varsity sports will begin on 11/9/09. (Freshman Girls' Basketball begins on 1/4/10) Winter Cheerleadnig Try-Outs will be on November 12th and 13th.
There will be a Parent/Player/Coaches meeting PRIOR to the start of the season. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th at 6:30 in the High School theatre. This is a new way of doing it this year so please make note. Any student who is interested in playing a winter sport and their parents should plan on attending.
MODIFIED (MIDDLE SCHOOL) WINTER START DATES: There are two mini seasons within the winter season for the middle school students. The first one (Modified I) has two teams. The first team begins on 10/26 which is Girls' Volleyball. Try outs for girls' volleyball are as follows: (there will be a shuttle bus to take them to the high school) 7th graders go on Monday (10/26) and Wednesday (10/28) from 3-5 at the high school. 8th graders go on Tuesday (10/27) and Thursday (10/29) from 3-5 at the high school. On Friday (10/30) from 3-5 only 32 selected players come back for practices and on Saturday (10/31) from 9-11 will be practice and teams will be assigned. The second part begins on 11/2 and is Boys' 7th and 8th basketball as well as Freshman Boys basketball. The practice schedules for the first few days of the basketball teams are now on the web schedules.
The second one (Modified II) begins on 1/4/10 which includes Girls' Basketball, Boys' Swimming/Diving and Wrestling. Students who are interested in trying out/participating in these sports must sign up in the nurse's office at the Middle School. Students will be given health forms if necessary so they will be eligible to participate. Sign-ups will be announced at the school and must be done no later than two weeks prior to the start of the season.
