Mission: The mission of the library is to provide all students with the foundation they will need to be "effective users of ideas and information" in middle school and beyond (American Association of School Librarians 6). The library’s program will teach students and staff in a "technologically rich, literary environment, celebrating each student’s individual success" in support of Oswego City School District Standards and Leighton school’s curricular goals ("Library"). The library program will provide a wide range of materials on varying difficulty levels and topics to encourage lifelong learning, reading, and "intellectual curiosity" (Fort).
