Ms. Scoville's Artwork Ms. Scoville's Artwork Before Ms. Scoville became an art teacher she was an artist! She started to draw at a very young age and always had a piece of paper and a crayon with her. As she got older family, friends and teachers began to recognize her talent. She focused on art in high school and won awards and scholarships for her artwork. When she was in high school she liked to draw with pencils and colored pencils and she painted some too! One day,her art teacher asked her if she ever thought about becoming an art teacher. Ms. Scoville thought she would always be a science teacher, she never even thought about teaching art! So from that day on Ms. Scoville focused on becoming an art teacher. She went to college where she study painting, ceramics and art history. She also created some artwork in different materials she never used before. After she studied art for 4 years, she continued going to school to become an art teacher. She worked with other art teachers and took classes on how to become a great teacher. Shortly after finishing college, Ms. Scoville got a job at the Oswego High School. She taught art there for two years when an art job at the Leighton was available. Ms. Scoville got the job teaching art at Leighton Elementary and loves teaching art at this level. She will be starting her third year this fall! This past year Ms. Scoville was finally able to focus on her own artwork and creating a studio (a place where artists create) in her house. She was able to get a potter's wheel and a kiln so she can create all the ceramics she wants. Sometimes Ms. Scoville will paint too! Ms. Scoville sells her artwork for other people to enjoy. It will be available at and at Midnight Sun in Oswego
