KPS to Welcome New Principal in August

With more than two decades of experience in education, including several years in leadership roles, Syracuse native Jennifer Przybylski was recently appointed as the Kingsford Park Elementary School principal.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education approved the appointment at its April 1 meeting, and Przybylski will begin her tenure as KPS principal in August, following the retirement of Dr. Mary Volkomer.
“We are grateful to Dr. Volkomer for her decades of service to the Oswego City School District, and we wish her the best in retirement,” said OCSD Superintendent Dr. Raymond Kilmer. “Our hiring committee wanted to ensure her successor would embrace the district’s mission and be able to lead KPS into the future, and we’re excited to have Jennifer fill that role.”
Przybylski brings a wealth of experience in education and leadership. She began her career teaching English in the North Syracuse Central School District for 16 years before transitioning into school leadership. She served as an assistant principal in the Baldwinsville Central School District for three years, with one year at Ray Middle School and two years at Durgee Junior High School. For the past four years, she has been the principal of Camillus Middle School in the West Genesee School District.
As she steps into her new role, Przybylski is eager to build strong, meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. She said she is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed. Additionally, she said she is looking forward to collaborating with teachers to support high-quality instruction and ensure that all students have the resources they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
“I am most excited about the opportunity to connect with students every day and be part of their educational journey,” said Przybylski. “There is something truly special about the energy and curiosity of elementary students, and I can’t wait to support and celebrate their growth.”
Przybylski said she was drawn to OCSD due to its dedication to empowering and engaging students for a successful future. She resonates with the district’s commitment to equity and excellence and is excited to contribute to its core values. “Building relationships based on respect, integrity, and care is at the foundation of my leadership approach. I look forward to collaborating with staff, families, and the greater community to foster innovation, ensure student well-being, and create a safe, inclusive space where all learners can thrive.”
A native of Syracuse and a graduate of Liverpool High School, Przybylski currently resides in Liverpool. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
