For families interested in homeschooling their child(ren), please note the district process and requirements below.
 

Step 1: Notice of Intent

Complete, and submit, the online "OCSD Notice of Intent to Homeschool Form" by July 1. The Notice of Intent must be submitted annually.

Step 2: Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP)

After your Notice of Intent form is received, you will be emailed a digital form to provide an Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP). The IHIP must be received no later than August 15th.

The IHIP form will guide your through the required information including your syllabus/plan of instruction, a list of curriculum materials and texts, a list of quarterly report dates, the name of instructor and the plan for annual assessment. You will need to fill our an IHIP for each student being homeschooled.

Step 3: Quarterly Reports and Annual Assessments

Quarterly Reports: 

A Quarterly Report must be submitted for each child and for each quarter of the school year. Quarterly reports are submitted online with the Quarterly Report Form found on this page.  

Annual Assessment:

Requirements vary by age/grade. Please refer to the Homeschool Manual linked on this page for additional details.
