KPS Student Council recently organized another fundraiser, this time in partnership with local residents Anton and Liubov Chertkovsky. Kindergarten students and student council members participated in a group song to perform for the Chertkovsky family and their KPS peers, "Peace like a River, Love like a Ocean, Joy like a Fountain."
Anton Chertkovsky was born in Odesa, Ukraine and moved to the U.S. in 1995 when he was just 8 years old, fleeing the dangers of antisemitism during the era of the Soviet Union. Letter from the Superintendent::  6/12/22 Letter from the Superintendent:: 6/12/22: Dear Oswego City School District Community, It is with deep sorrow that I am writing to share that an Oswego Middle School student passed away Sunday morning after a car accident. At this time, we are not releasing the student’s name out of respect for the family and to ensure their privacy. We are truly heartbroken and extend our sincere sympathy to his family and our entire OCSD community as we share in their grief. The Oswego Middle School and the district will provide an opportunity for students and staff throughout the district to discuss and work through the grief process. OHS names Top 100 high-achieving students for 2021-22 OHS names Top 100 high-achieving students for 2021-22: Congratulations to the Top 100 Oswego High School students in grades 9-12 for the 2021-22 school year! The top 25 of each class: freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, were recently honored for their academic achievements. OHS Dean of Students Morley shaves head for St. Baldrick's during spring pep rally OHS Dean of Students Morley shaves head for St. Baldrick's during spring pep rally: On Thursday morning, Oswego High School hosted its winter and spring sports pep rally out on the turf field with a performance by the Oswego Marching Buccaneers Pep Band, a commemorative athletics slideshow, and the conclusion of OHS's St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraising efforts.
Oswego High School Dean of Students Penny Morley pledged that she would shave her head for St. Baldrick's Foundation if students raised more than $2,200 for charity this spring.
